Renovation Work

The organ restoration work has been carried out by Mr. Peter Trueman so no photographs are available. Details of the work undertaken are on the front page.

However, I have been busy making a trolley for the organ which is currently under construction as can be seen below:-

Front of the trolley

Back of the trolley showing music drawers (Still to be finished)

The trolley has been designed to carry to organ to one end with room for a parasol to slot down the other end. The rear view shows the four music drawers which are awaiting their fronts & surrounds to be fitted. Also the back doors have yet to be fitted but are awaiting planing.

Two weeks later and the trolley has been completed. The timber has been stained deep mahogany to match the organ. The collecting box has been bolted to the front and the carvings have been painted and added to the corners to break up the plain timber a bit. Also holes have been drilled through the shelves at the far end to all allow for the the parasol to fit as can be seen on it's first outing into town.

The inside of the trolley has four sliding shelves to store the music books and they currently hold about 60 books. Underneath there is a small amount of additional storage for the handle, monkey etc..

A leatherette cover was made to fit over the organ to keep the dust out and to keep it dry when out in wet weather.
